Making a post featured content is a way of drawing community members' attention to specific content by displaying it on a Web page using the [[configure the featured content widget|Featured Content]] widget.
You can mark new pages as featured content, or you can edit a page to select the option.
In order for the content you choose to make featured to displayed as such, you have to add the Featured Content widget to a site or group page, and search must be operational.
The Make post featured check box is located in the following places:
- For a new blog post, the featured content check box is located in the Advanced Options tab on a new post. To make an existing post featured, click Edit this post, and click Advanced Options to see the check box.
- For a new forum post, the featured content check box is located in the Options tab. To make an existing post featured, you have to use the Forums - Create/Edit Post widget to access the Options tab. It is not available using the Forum - Links widget or moderation options. click Edit this post, and click Options to see the check box.
- For a new media gallery post, the check box is located at the bottom of the post. To make an existing post featured, click Edit in the Media Gallery - Links ("Options") widget. The check box is available at the bottom of the post.
- For a new wiki article, the check box is located at the bottom of the wiki page. To make an existing post featured, click Edit page in the Wiki - Links ("Options") widget. The check box appears at the bottom of the post.
The content will be displayed in the Featured Content widget.
